The Ministry of Youth and Sports has significantly increased the registration fees of the Inter-ministerial, Public Corporations and Agencies League from US$350 to US$500.
Director of Sports Navarro M. Saykie, Sr., told the Daily Observer Wednesday that the increment is intended to improve the organization and awards of the tournament.
The tournament includes football, kickball and volleyball.
“The increase is also to meet the demand of match officials in the three events,” he said.
The increment in the fees has caused slow registration from ministries, public corporations, agencies and other government branches (Legislature and Judiciary).
Investigation further revealed that the slow pace in registration will most likely change the date of the opening of tournament, from Wednesday, the 5th of March 2014.
Volleyball triple champs, Ministry of Finance, which is also football title holder, is said to be set to defend the title as well as kickball triple title holder, NASSCORP.
